Goosneck
A goosneck is a flexible tubing which is made of a spiral-wound core of metal.
This type of tubing is frequently used in gooseneck lamps, as microphone stand – and in the neck of many TPE dolls.
An alternative method for engineering a neck are double hinges. A hinged neck is commonly used in most silicone dolls.
The gooseneck is cheaper and easier to process in the factory, but it can start to creak after a while, and it can be less robust than a well-engineered double-hinged neck.
Another disadvantage of the gooseneck is that it is less suitable for hanging the doll for long-term storage.
