Weekly summary 12/2022

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 12th week of 2022, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Corona situation. a) The situation in general. The economic desaster caused by lockdowns and other Corona measures keeps unfolding. Supply chains are disrupted, and energy prices keep climbing up - fuel, gas, diesel, crude oil, and coal. Shortages in key industries are continuously reported even in mainstram media. We are now in a massive energy crisis which is further spurred on by tensions between Russia, the EU and the US about a new gas pipeline through Ukraine. In Canada, peaceful trucker protests against governmental measures have been beaten down by force through "emergency laws". Since the beginning of March, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangdong are partially under new lockdowns. It is becoming obvious that Corona was only the pretext for something much bigger, now aliased as "New World Order" or Klaus Schwab's "Great Reset", or in the end: the United Nation's Agenda 2030.

Under the distraction provided by the Ukraine crisis, the WHO is currently preparing another power grab to expand their powers to take over all member states in the event of a pandemic and “any other form of threat or disaster”. Once signed, the WHO Constitution will take precedence over a national country’s constitution. Disempowering national states will result in a further loss of basic and civil rights. Since the definition of pandemic was changed by the WHO as well, any disease can be used als pretext for WHO to take over global governance.

With currently 81 studies including 33 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) and 61 peer-reviewed papers reporting positive effects of Ivermectin, there is plenty of sound research proving the efficacy of Covid-19 prophylaxis, and treatment protocols like I-MASK+ and MATH+ available. With the early intervention treatment protocols provided by Dr. Shankara Chetty, Covid-19 can successfully be treated as a biphasic disease by fully relying on authorized medication and on-label use drugs. Also, as reported in the Lancet, inhalation of Budesonid can reduce the probability of severe courses of disease by 90%. All of this is clear evidence that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is similarily managable like any other easily transmissible virus. For what plausible reason is treatment and prophylaxis with Ivermectin or Budesonid keeps getting suppressed? #FollowtheScience.

b) Impact on the doll business. The global crisis hits the doll business on multiple levels:

1. Several Chinese manufacturer have issued alerts because of silicone shortages and steeply increasing costs for raw materials. Prices for materials required to build dolls have increased by up tp 40%.
2. Severed supply chains even affect doll makers outside of China as parts required to build the dolls can not be obtained anymore.
3. Also, air freight costs have massively increased, especially for taller and/or heavier dolls. In some cases, costs have tripled within the past two months.
4. Chinese factories suffer from electricity power limits because the Chinese government has rationed electrical energy. That means that the lead time to make a doll increases, in some cases it even doubles because the factories are simply not allowed to work as long as they want.
5. Last but not least, in some regions the Chinese government has imposed new lockdowns. Particularily in Southern China, factories had to close, and shipping companies operate in slow motion if at all.

Bottomline: The world is now in a massive crisis. When energy costs skyrocket, it has an impact on every line of business. If Chinas factories are shut down, additional supply chain disruptions will follow. If less fertilizer is produced, the harvest in fall will be poor and food prices will increase. Prepare for the aftermath!

2) New arrivals.

This week, one new head was introduced:

• Irontech Doll S18 head aka ›Hazel‹ - silicone

Two new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: Irontech ITSRS-166/B body style aka 166 cm Minus - silicone / ~166 cm
• New arrivals: Irontech ITSRS-166/C body style - silicone / ~166 cm / ~37 kg

One new torso was released:

• New arrivals: WM Dolls B19 Torso - TPE / 34 kg (from backlog)

One new head variant of existing heads was introduced:

• Zelex GE49M head - silicone (scaled-down variant of GE49)

Also, no new variants of existing body styles were introduced.
