Weekly summary 01/2019

Hi,

another quick summary of what was going in the doll world in the first week of 2019 (as far as we at Dollstudio were concerned).

1) New arrivals.

The most important new arrivals this week was the 2019 series by Doll House 168. The new bodies and heads are now manufactured at Doll Forever factory, so DH168 products can now come from (at least) three different factories.

New body styles from the 2019 series are:

• DH19-155/F,
• DH19-145/F,
• DH19-135/D, and
• DH19-128/E.

The new body styles are accompanied by several new heads like Lazuli, Honoka, Marie, Nao, Christie, and Chloe.

Also DH168/D4E is trying to unify some options across the different brands. And: DH168 and Piper are now offering a broad range of 36 wigs to choose from.

3) Shipped dolls.

Some of you have missed the "This doll travels to…" posts with factory photos and configuration data. The reason is simple - there were not many shipped dolls in the past weeks. A lot of new doll seekers appear to be rather sobered when they learn that a "brand new life-sized TPE doll" actually costs more than $500. So guys, please stop asking to price match that bloody advertorial on TDF.

The only shipped doll this week was a male one, AS Doll's AD-160/M (male) with Aaron head.

4) Other topics.

Talks with the two Chinese silicone manufacturers were sobering. One has rather crazy terms, the other one is not exactly responsive. On top, both are not willing to sell a sample for review. That's not good enough to work with.

Indigo is planning to resume business next week, starting with the backlag from old orders. When the backlag is processed, his products will become available for (new) orders, again.

Last but not least, Chinese New Year is closing in. Orders placed during the next two weeks might still have a chance to depart from China before logistics companies shut down for the holidays.
